When customers report encountering the following common problems, we should solve the problem for customers in several steps:

1.Question: Customers report that the 4G low-power gun-ball linkage camera goes offline when used for the first time

Answer:

1.After resetting the camera, power the Solar PTZ Camera 4g with a 5V2A power supply, and then observe whether the blue light is always on.

2.Replace the card of other operators and try to see if the blue light of the camera is always on. If it still does not work, please format the memory card and insert it into the camera. After the camera runs for 10 minutes, send the log file automatically generated in the memory card back to us for log analysis.

3.If replacing other operator cards can be used but the customer insists on using the original operator’s card, turn off the mobile phone wifi. Insert the 4G traffic card the camera uses into an Android phone, go to the Google Store to download the Cellular-Z software, and then send the frequency band information displayed on the app back for confirmation.

4.After the frequency band information is sent back, continue to open the phone settings, take a screenshot of the APN information, and send it back. If the APN information contains an account password, you need to contact the operator to provide the password for confirmation. After sending it back, I will make an APN upgrade package for the customer to upgrade. At the same time, let the customer contact the local operator to confirm whether the local operator will restrict this 4G device.

5.Is the camera correctly plugged into the antenna?

4G camera offline troubleshooting hardware failure is nothing more than no power or no network. The troubleshooting method starts with electricity. Long-term transportation and a long time in the warehouse add up to a long time. The battery may consume part of the power by itself, so first insert 5V2A into the camera. Then check the card.

Let the customer try to use the SIM card of other operators first. If it can be used, it means that there is no problem with the hardware of the camera. Then check whether there is an upgrade. If so, upgrade the camera first, and then try to see if the original card can be used. If it still cannot be used, you need to check the version information of the camera (you can add the app to view the version information even if the camera is offline) and send the version information back to check whether it is the latest version. If it is the latest version but still cannot be used, you need to send the log back for analysis and confirmation.

After confirming that there is no problem with the camera, if the customer insists on using the original operator’s card, you need to first confirm the customer’s frequency band and whether the corresponding 4G version is used, and then check whether the camera indicator light is always on in blue. It is normal for the blue light to be always on. Confirm that the 4G card inserted by the customer can be used normally on the mobile phone. 

After confirming that the card is fine, the customer needs to provide APN information, including the corresponding values ​​of APN, MNC, MCC, and the name of the operator. If there is an account password in the APN information, the account password must also be provided. We will customize the APN upgrade package for the customer and provide it to the customer for upgrade. At the same time, the customer needs to contact the operator to see if the local operator has restrictions on this type of 4G device and 4G cards.

2.Question: Why does the Camera Power Drop Very Quickly?

Ask the customer:

1.Is the video recording triggered frequently, or is it working in the normal power mode?

Please insert the TF card. You can judge whether the video recording is frequent by the video recording on the TF card. Turn on the Solar PTZ Camera 4g and check whether the signal value is full. Is the solar panel fully exposed to the sun? Is the local temperature relatively low? If the customer is not sure, you need to send the camera account and password to me for remote viewing.

Explanation: The rapid decline of power can generally be divided into two situations: “fast power consumption” and “slow charging”.

“Fast power consumption” is generally an average of more than 100 times a day. We think it is a high-frequency trigger. When the 4G signal is poor, the camera will show that the signal is only 2-3 grids. The camera will keep looking for a suitable base station and switch back and forth, causing the camera to consume power quickly. If the camera is turned on in the 24-hour recording mode, it will also consume power quickly. It is recommended to turn on the 24-hour recording mode and plug in a 5V2A power supply for power supply. At the same time, the camera will consume more power when human tracking is turned on.

“Slow charging” is prone to fast power loss in weather with weaker sunlight. The installation of the camera solar panel CCTV requires that the sunlight can directly hit the entire solar panel. Generally, it is best to lay flat and face the low latitude direction, so that the solar panel can have enough output power to power the battery. Diffuse and scattered light will only show that there is charging, but in fact, there is no electricity charged or the current is very small, and it cannot provide sufficient power for the battery.

In addition, temperature is the most direct and largest factor affecting the performance of lithium batteries. When the temperature drops, it will have a direct impact on the performance of the battery. This is a problem that the entire lithium battery industry is trying to overcome. At present, the maximum operating temperature of our battery is minus 20 degrees. The more reasonable ambient temperature range of our products is about 15-40 degrees.

2.After the customer has answered, reply according to the situation:

After the above explanation, you can recommend customers purchase an additional matching Solar panel CCTV for charging according to their actual needs, which will better solve the power problem.

  • If it is caused by high-frequency triggering, you can reduce the PIR sensitivity or set the deployment time.
  • If the customer turns on the normal power mode, it is recommended to switch back to the low power mode, or directly use a 5V2A power supply.
  • If it is due to the wrong installation position or angle, resulting in insufficient sunlight, please adjust the installation position and angle. If it doesn’t work, add a bracket and extension cable.
  • If it is caused by signal problems, change the installation location or directly replace the card of the operator with a good signal.
  • If it is caused by temperature, it is normal to have a slight decrease in capacity. When the temperature rises and the spring flowers bloom, the battery capacity will also rise synchronously and return to normal.

3.Question: Can the Low-Power Gun-Ball Linkage Camera be Set to 24-hour Recording Mode?

Answer: Yes.

Our low-power gun-ball linkage cameras all support 24-hour constant power recording. You can choose not to sleep in the sleep time setting. However, because the 24-hour recording mode consumes more power, it is recommended to directly plug in 5V2A for power supply. Otherwise, when the camera drops below 10%, the camera will forcibly switch to low power mode and send a low power notification. At the same time, the camera also supports the setting of constant power + low power mode. When the camera power is less than 50%, the camera starts the low power mode. When the power is higher than 60%, the camera switches back to the constant power mode.

4.Question: The Image is not clear

Our sensors use relatively good solutions, using starlight or blacklight levels. They are mid-to-high-end products in the entire civilian camera industry. The image effect will not be bad, especially the night vision effect. Whether it is white light or infrared, it is very good, and there will be no noise, blur, etc.

Answer: If you feel that the image is not clear, you can check it according to the following steps

  1. After opening the app, select HD/4K.
  2. Confirm that the camera is fixed and cannot be held by hand. Holding it by hand will greatly affect the image quality.
  3. No backlight
  4. There is no foreign matter in the lens

If you still think that the image quality is problematic, open the app, adjust it to HD, click the screenshot button in the app, take a screenshot, and send it back for review, or directly send the camera account and password, and it will be checked in the background.

If the zoom lens is blurred in the zoom model:

  1. Confirm that the version information is the latest version. If not, please update.
  2. Send the camera account and password to perform background calibration. It may be that the camera has no focus problem due to the lack of calibration during installation. Re-lock the focus.

5.Q: The Camera does not Record Alarms

The Nivew series only supports PIR human body trigger alarms, with an angle of about 120 degrees and a distance of 8 meters, which is affected by the environment. The distance to ensure basic environmental accuracy is 5-8 meters. If the distance is too close, it will not be triggered. It will be triggered normally when it is at least 0.5 meters away from the camera. Because the PIR angle of view is almost the same as the angle of view of the lens, the angle of the screen when the image is opened is the corresponding angle of PIR detection. The alarm recording will be saved in the TF card, and it will also be uploaded to the cloud storage if cloud storage is enabled.

Answer:
1.Check whether the TF card displays the capacity normally. If the capacity is not displayed normally, please refer to 6. Q

2.Whether the PIR human body detection function is turned on. It needs to be turned on to detect the alarm normally.

3.Pay attention to the detection distance (it is not recommended to exceed 8 meters. This distance is the distance from the camera to the measured location)

6.Q: Unable to read the memory card

Niview series cameras support up to 128G TF cards, which need to support the speed level of C10. Try to use big brands or memory cards purchased by our company. The file format must be FAT32. Large-capacity memory cards, such as 32G and above, will become exFAT format after being formatted on the computer. After inserting the memory card into the Solar PTZ Camera 4g, you may need to format the memory card again in the app to record normally.

Answer:

  1. If it shows that the memory card is not inserted, please turn off the computer, plug and unplug the memory card once, and then turn it on again to check. If it cannot be solved after repeated attempts, please contact technical support for processing
  2. If it shows that the memory card is not formatted, just click to format it.
  3. Make sure that the memory card has a capacity of 128G or less and the file format is FAT32.

7.Question: The Camera Cannot Alarm

The camera cannot alarm. First, eliminate the hardware failure. There are several reasons 

  1. The detection distance required by the customer is too far, and the camera’s PIR cannot detect it. The PIR angle is 90 degrees, and the maximum distance is 12 meters. It is recommended to install it at 6-9 meters while ensuring accuracy. The distance is too far and the surrounding environment will affect this detection distance.
  2. After receiving the goods, the customer needs to tear off the PIR protective film, otherwise it will cause the detection distance to be too close and the detection time to be slow.
  3. Check whether the human body detection function of the camera is turned on.
  4. Check whether the deployment time of the camera is correct.

Answer:

  1. Please make sure that the detection position is no more than 10 meters away from the camera and no less than 0.5 meters, and the camera image can see people normally.
  2. Please make sure that the protective film on the PIR is torn off. Otherwise, it will also cause insensitive triggering.
  3. If the alarm still cannot be normally sounded after the above method is operated, please contact technical support.
