On the afternoon of September 11, Premier Li Qiang held talks with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed at the Riyadh Royal Palace and co-chaired the fourth meeting of the China-Saudi Arabia High-Level Joint Committee.

Li Qiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed. Li Qiang said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China and Saudi Arabia have adhered to mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit, mutual learning and mutual reference, and bilateral relations have developed comprehensively, rapidly and in-depth, with fruitful results in cooperation in various fields. China has placed the development of relations with Saudi Arabia as a priority in China’s overall diplomacy, especially in the Middle East diplomacy. It is willing to firmly support and achieve mutual success with Saudi Arabia, firmly regard each other’s development as an important opportunity, further play the role of the High-level Committee mechanism, promote new and greater development of bilateral relations, and continuously enhance the well-being of the two peoples.

Li Qiang pointed out that China and Saudi Arabia are both major developing countries with broad common interests. China is willing to work closely with Saudi Arabia on the road of development and move forward side by side. The two sides should further expand the scale of bilateral trade, deepen cooperation in traditional fields such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and infrastructure construction, expand cooperation in emerging fields such as new energy, information and communications, digital economy, and green economy, encourage domestic enterprises to invest and start businesses in each other’s countries, and jointly maintain the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain. We will organize the “2025 China-Saudi Arabia Cultural Year” activities, promote cultural, trade, think tank, education, media, and non-governmental exchanges and cooperation, and continuously enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. China supports Saudi Arabia in playing a greater role in international and regional affairs, and is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination with Saudi Arabia, promote unity and cooperation among Asian countries, jointly safeguard international fairness and justice, and promote global governance in a more just and reasonable direction.

Mohammed said that Saudi Arabia and China have a long history of friendly exchanges. Under the strategic guidance of King Salman and President Xi Jinping, the relationship between the two countries has maintained a high level of development and is a comprehensive strategic partner that can rely on each other. The two countries have a high degree of mutual trust in politics, and their mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields has continued to deepen. Saudi Arabia looks forward to further strengthening high-level exchanges with China, giving full play to the role of the Saudi-China High-Level Committee mechanism, strengthening the docking of development strategies, and deepening exchanges and cooperation in energy, investment, finance, humanities and other fields to better benefit the people of the two countries. Saudi Arabia and China have similar positions on international and regional issues and shoulder common responsibilities. Both Saudi Arabia and China adhere to the principle of respecting the sovereignty of other countries and non-interference in internal affairs. The Saudi side highly appreciates China’s fair position on the Palestinian issue and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China on international multilateral affairs and contribute to maintaining regional and global peace, security and stability.
